MAIN FEATURES

CONTACTS

Pin or socket contacts are removable and carry a gold plating finish
Contact diameter (2.4 mm) .095 (U.S.A. size 12) - Dimensions conform to MS specification.

CONTACT TERMINATION

Contact may be either crimped (specification M 22520/1-01 and M 22520/1-02) or soldered on to the wire ends.
Contact: (2.4 mm dia.) U.S.A. size 12
Max. cross section area for soldered wires : (3.18 sq.mm) 12AWG
Max. cross section area for crimped wires : (1.34 to 3.18 sq.mm) 16 to 12 AWG
Maximum insulated wire diameter : (3.5 mm) .138 dia.

EARTHED / GROUND CONTACT

Contact No. 1 establishes the electrical connection before the other contacts and breaks it after they are uncoupled and this contact can be used for earthing purposes (specification UTE C 15-100).
Where this contact needs to be connected to the earth of the casing, insert, behind the two parts of the connector and between the casing and the earth contact, the small plate provided for this purpose.

ELECTRICAL DATA

-Contact resistance between pin and socket : less than 0.0010 ohm
Maximum current rating : depends on the number of contacts carrying this current and the permitted temperature increase.
When N contacts permanently carry a current of I amperes, the temperature increase of the connector is approximately :
Contact : (2.4 mm dia.) U.S.A. size 12
less than (1° C) 1.8°F x N Where I = 7 amperes
(2° C) 3.6° F x N Where I = 12 amperes
(10° C) 18° F x N Where I = 30 amperes

Flashover voltage :
at (20° C) 68° F (mated connectors) at sea level : higher than 2500 V (r.m.s.)
at (56 mm) 2.20 in. of Hg (66 000 ft) : higher than 500 V (r.m.s.)
- Insulation resistance (Tested at 500 Volts D.C.) : greater than 5000 megohms

CONNECTOR COUPLING SYSTEM

Connectors with 3-4-7-12 and 19 contacts : bayonet-lock type (1/6 turn).
Rubber sealing grommets** are available for use with these different type of adapter ; delivered with all connectors, their use is compulsory with plugs and cable connecting plugs.
** Sealing grommets for a series of wires - Consult our sales Engineering office.

MECHANICAL DATA

Durability : no damage after 1000 engagements and disengagements, as in service.
Vibration : Specification NF-C 20-706 (International Specification CEI 69-2-6).
