Coupling of the plug is provided by a knurled ring which screws on to the threaded body of the receptacle or cable connecting plug Colour coding of the plugs, receptacles and cable connecting plugs according to French Specification NF-E 18 001.
Contact identification on front and back of insert, the former surface carrying numbers whilst the latter is colour according to French Specification NF-C 42 321 and NF-C 42 323 (International specification : CEI 504-1) (positive contact only). DESCRIPTION
The design and dimensions of these connectors are the same as those socket
insert plugs, pin insert receptacles and cable connecting plugs, pin insert
which carry 3 contacts and are classed in the "standard" series.
The contact Nos. 1 and 2 [of (3 mm) .118 dia. contacts] are made of the same materials as their respective wire conductors (except for the socket contact springs) and the insulator is of blue diallyl-phtalate.
